“Why should I?” Xavier asked, flopping defiantly back down into his chair and crossing his arms, “Evil Magazine voted me the most Diabolical Mastermind of the Decade. I should be shaking the scientists’ hands for coming up with something as awful as that.”
Amelia flared her nostrils in frustration. She was about to go off on another tangent, telling Xavier what a complete and utter asshole he was and how she couldn’t believe he was going to let a shit ton of people die just because he was being a stubborn douche, when a sly smile broke out across her face.
“Yeah,” she replied, leaning against the door frame, “You could do that.”
Xavier looked up at her skeptically. “You’re not going to fight me on this?”
Amelia shrugged, “Why should I even bother anymore? I’m just a little surprised at you.”
“What? Why?”
“I just thought you’d be angrier that you didn’t think of it first.”
The villain pursed his lips, and turned to the dark haired woman. “What are you getting at?”
“For someone who claims to be evil, you sure seem to be okay with the so called ‘good guys’ getting away with the most awful deed of the century. Something you should have thought of.”
